Eco Insulation® has a lot to offer with the Enbridge Home Energy Rebate Plus program

Important program update – February 5, 2024:

Effective the end of the day Monday, February 5^th, Enbridge Gas will not be accepting any new applicants to the HER+ program. If you are a homeowner who has not completed a pre-retrofit energy assessment before Monday, February 5^th, or have a pre-retrofit energy assessment booked after February 5^th, 2024, will not be able to enter the HER+ program for a rebate.

Any homeowners who had a pre-retrofit energy assessment completed on or before Monday, February 5^th can continue with their retrofits and will continue to be eligible for funding.

Introducing Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+): Now up to $10,600 back!

Enhanced rebates through a new partnership with Enbridge Gas and the Government of Canada’s Greener Homes Grant.

Enbridge Gas and the Canada’s Greener Homes Grant have partnered to provide rebates towards eligible retrofits such as home insulation, windows and doors, heat pumps and renewable energy systems. The new, co-ordinated Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program will help more Ontarians save energy at home. This is great news for residents across the province, including current Enbridge Gas customers who use natural gas to heat their homes and will benefit from enhanced rebates up to $10,000. Participants can also offset the cost of their EnerGuide home evaluation with an additional rebate of $600.

What’s new for the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) program?

The Home Efficiency Rebate Plus offers (HER+) is available rebates into two offerings:

Rebate Package A offers up to $10,000 in rebates for homeowners who are Enbridge customers
This rebate package is funded by Enbridge Gas and the Government of Canada’s Greener Homes Grant
Rebate Package B offers up to $5,000 in rebates for homeowners who are not Enbridge customers
This rebate package is funded by the Government of Canada’s Greener Homes Grant

The big differentiating factor between the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program and past rebate programs available in Ontario is that only one retrofit upgrade is required to qualify for rebates, whereas some previous programs required multiple.

It doesn’t matter which rebate package you qualify for, your available rebate amounts have been updated for the launch of the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program and differ from the previously-available rebate amounts. Additionally, new eligibility criteria allow more Ontarians to qualify for rebates.

You qualify if you:

Own a detached, semi-detached,
row house, or mobile home or multi-unit
residential building.
Have an energy assessment both before
and after your renovations.
Complete at least one eligible energy
up-grade renovation.
Provide copies of all receipts for energy
upgrades.
The home must be heated with natural gas,
or in the process of converting heating fuel
to natural gas or electric.

How The Program Works

Call and schedule an initial home energy assessment with a Registered Energy Advisor.

They’ll provide a custom report with recommended upgrades.

Complete at least one eligible upgrade and schedule a follow-up home energy assessment.

Receive your rebate cheque, including up to $600 for the assessments.

More Ontarians now qualify

Grant funding through the Canada Greener Homes Grant is being offered across the country to all eligible Canadians. The co-delivery of this program through the HER+ in Ontario will allow eligible homeowners to access the benefits of both programs through a single application and streamlined process regardless of their home heating fuel type.

Type of homes that will qualify:

Enbridge Gas customers

Enbridge Gas customers who own and live as a primary resident in their home.

Enbridge Gas customers, with tenants
(landlord-owned)

Enbridge Gas customers who own a home where they are not the primary resident.

Non-Enbridge Gas customers

Rebates for homeowners who do not heat their home with Enbridge Gas.

Off-grid
communities

Communities not currently connected to the North American electrical grid nor to the piped natural gas network, living in a permanent or long-term (five years or more) settlement with at least 10 dwellings.

Multi-residential buildings

Owners in some low-rise and mixed-use properties are eligible for rebates. See details.

These homes do not qualify for the program:

Homes that are not the owners’ primary residence and do not have an active Enbridge Gas account.
Multi-unit residential buildings (MURB) with more than 3 storeys or larger than 600 m².
Cooperatives.
Homes built less than 6 months ago.
Mixed use buildings that are less than 50% residential.

Qualifying Insulation Rebates
