- Crew members will install venting and damming if needed.
- Finally one of the crew members will remain in the truck feeding the machine while the other blows the desired thickness of product into your attic.

Products to use
Products to use when determining summer insulation needs vary on the application. From a typical installation to a more complex, eco insulation can successfully insulate your home no matter what your project or budget.
Typical installation
Cellulose insulation
In a typical installation cellulose insulation is used. Visit our why use cellulose post to find out more on the product. In this application cellulose is installed on the attic floor. This is very simple, affordable , effective and quick. Upon the initial inspection a sales representative will inspect you attic. Determine if the existing insulation levels are acceptable for Ontario building codes. Make recommendations and leave you with a written estimate.
Venting and Damming is very important in an attic, especially in a typical installation. The perimeter of your attic should be dammed off using batts of insulation around the perimeter. This prevent cellulose from falling into the soffit and restricting air flow. Vents are installed roughly every 3rd truss to allow sufficient air flow. This will ensure your insulation isn’t exposed to excessive heat in the summer. It also remove moisture from your attic. A properly vented attic will also lengthen the lifespan of your shingles. Identify your summer insulation needs before the cooling season begins so you can start saving today.
Hot Roof application
Spray foam insulation
In a hot roof application we spray foam directly to the roof deck. NO VENTING is required for this application. Spray foam is a non-porous material therefore it can be sprayed directly to the roof deck and it will not cook the shingles. The reason shingles cook is because the heat on the inside is greater than outside. This is a very effective application and should be used whenever possible.
This picture displays how important it is to identify and address your summer insulation needs. On a summer day in a typical attic the outside temperature is 94, the roof deck is 160 and the attic space inside is 112. With a hot roof the outside temperature is 94, the roof deck is 139 and the interior temperature is 102. The energy savings to keep the interior at 70 are drastic between the two applications.
